Jony Ive Officially Departs Apple

Update: Apple removed Jony Ive from the leadership page but he is back again.

Jony Ive has officially left Apple as Apple today removed the biography of Ive from Apple’s leadership page.

It was announced earlier that Jony Ive will be leaving Apple to manage his own design agency LoveFrom. Apple is supposedly said to the first client of Ive’s design firm.

Ive’s departure will affect Apple in many ways since the Cupertino based tech giant has no replacement for him. On the other hand, Apple signing an outside agency with no day-in or day-out availability at Cupertino will not be making things easier.

Evans Hankey will take control of Apple’s design group who was earlier criticized for being a manager and not a creative designer. Helping him will be Alan Dye. Currently, there is no one on the Apple leadership page with a design-focused representation.

These are the senior vice presidents currently featured on Apple’s leadership page alongside CEO Tim Cook: Katherine Adams,  Eddy Cue, Craig Federighi, John Giannandrea, Sabih Khan, Luca Maestri,  Deirdre O’Brien, Dan Riccio, Philip W. Schiller, Johny Srouji, and Jeff Williams.
