Apple posts transparency reports for the first half of 2019

Apple has been in focus when it comes to requests sent by governments or private parties to disclose data. Apple so far has been very strict about the data protection of its users. Apple has posted a transparency report for the first half of 2019 revealing governments and private parties.

Apple is very seriously committed to protecting your data and we work hard to deliver the most secure hardware, software and services available. We believe our customers have a right to understand how their personal data is managed and protected. This report provides information regarding requests Apple received from government agencies worldwide and U.S. private parties from January 1 through June 30, 2019.

Germany took first place by making 13,558 requests followed by the USA which made 4,796 requests.

Apple received 31,778 requests from government agencies inquiring about more than 195K devices. According to Apple, it provided data for 82% of those requests.
